Atsukan (熱燗 Hot Sake)
Recommended food is Sashimi (raw fish fillet and sea food), grilled or marinated fish and stew.
Recommended temperature is 40-50 °C (100-122 °F) . When you put your little finger into the bottle, you will feel hot, but not burning.
If you could not drink up Sake which you have already warmed, you can reuse it for cooking.
The bottle (left) calls Tokkuri, the vessel calls Ochoko or Choko.
Boil water in a sauce pan. When it boiled, put Tokkuri with Sake and stop heating the pan. After a couple of minutes, Sake is ready.
When you do not use them, you can keep like this not to get dust inside.
If the Tokkuri’s head is too big, you can put the Ochoko like this.
