Jabłecznik (Polish Apple Cake)

  • 250 g (9 oz) margarine (room temperature)
  • 500 g (1lb) flour (4/5 wheat, 1/5 graham)
  • 1.5 dl (5 fl oz) granulated sugar
  • 4 eggs (separate white and yolk)
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1.5 dl (5 fl oz) powdered sugar
  • 2.5 tbsp cacao or cinnamon powder
  • 3 large apples (sliced)
