- 3 cups flour (sifted)
- 1 cup water or milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt (for dough)
- 1 kg (2 lb) minced meat (beef and/or pork)
- 3 onions (finely chopped)
- 3-4 cloves garlic (shredded)
- Salt and pepper (for filling)
- Butter
- Dill (chopped)
- Sour cream
- Filling: Mix flour, water, egg and salt.
- Cover it by a plastic bag and leave it in refrigerator for 1/2-1 hour.
- Filling: Mix onions, minced meat, garlic, salt and pepper.
- Make thinly rolled circles of dough and cut and form balls. Balls should be about 12 g (0.4 oz).
- Surface with flour and roll them into disks (5-7 cm / 2 in).
- Place 1-1.5 tsp filling in the center.
- Pinch the 2 sides together all around.
- Connect the 2 bottom corners together.
- Boil them in boiled salt water for 5-7 minutes.
- Drain pelimeni and add butter.
- Sprinkle with dill on the top.
Serve with sour cream when you eat.
If you make more than you can eat, freeze them while raw. When it’s time to eat, just plunge them into boiling water straight from the freezer, and boil for a few minutes.
